0A literal zero in that exact position.
Search digits + Pattern:
typed digits are matched from the right as an ending.
Example: search 9 with XXX-YYYY can return
222-9999, 333-9999, and similar matches.
Use * as a Wildcard
An asterisk * means any single digit in that exact position.
You can use more than one asterisk in the same search.
77**
7700 – 7799
Matches any 4-digit ending that starts with 77.
Each * can be any digit from 0 to 9.
*919
0919 – 9919
Keeps 919 fixed and allows any digit in the wildcard position.
7*7*
7070, 7172, 7478…
Fixed digits stay in place while each asterisk can vary independently.
858 + 2*34***
(858) 2?3-4???
With an Area Code selected, the wildcard applies to the 7 local digits
after that Area Code.
Wildcard rule:
* replaces exactly one digit. It does not mean “any number of digits.”
The fixed digits and asterisks are matched by position.
